SIPMon Capacity and Performance Report

The capacity reports provide detailed insights into resource utilization across key infrastructure components, including storage, CPU, and memory. These reports include comprehensive usage list reports that track resource consumption over time, allowing for better capacity planning and optimization. For storage, they offer detailed usage metrics and evolution trends, segmented by host groups, categories, and service categories, enabling granular analysis of storage demands. Additionally, the reports incorporate linear regression graphs to forecast future trends based on historical data, helping to anticipate potential capacity shortages and optimize resource allocation.

SIPMon Capacity Types

SIPMon supports three types of capacity reports:

• Memory

  • Hostgroup Capacity Planning Linear Regression Memory
    • This report tracks the evolution of memory performance metrics for a host group and provides forecasted trends using linear regression, aiding in capacity planning and resource optimization.
  • Hostgroup Service Metric Performance List
    • This report presents average memory usage performance data across multiple services, including minimum and maximum values over a specified period, along with warning and critical thresholds for proactive monitoring.

• CPU

  • Hostgroup Capacity Planning Linear Regression

    • This report monitors the evolution of CPU performance metrics for a host group and offers forecasted trends using linear regression, facilitating capacity planning and resource optimization.

  • Hostgroups Categories Performance List

    • This report delivers average CPU performance data across various host groups, host categories, and service categories, including the minimum and maximum values recorded during the selected period, aiding in comprehensive performance analysis.

• Storage

  • Hostgroup Capacity Planning Linear Regression Storage

    • This report tracks the evolution of storage performance metrics for a host group and provides forecasted trends using linear regression, helping in capacity planning and resource optimization.

  • Hostgroups Storage Capacity-1

    • This report provides comprehensive statistics on allocated and used storage space, tracking its evolution across multiple host groups, service categories, and host categories for better capacity management.

  • Hostgroup Storage Capacity-2

    • This report delivers detailed statistics on allocated and used storage space, focusing on a single host group. The data is categorized by service categories and host categories to facilitate targeted capacity management.

  • Hostgroup Storage Capacity List

    • This report generates a detailed itemized list of storage space usage for a specific host group, enabling efficient monitoring and management of storage allocation.

• Network

  • Host Group Network Centile

    • Analyze network performance metrics by centile, providing a detailed view of network usage distribution across different host groups.

  • Host Group Traffic Interface Average by Interface

    • Evaluate the average traffic per interface within host groups, offering insights into interface-specific performance and utilization.

  • Host Group Traffic Interface and Bandwidth Ranges

    • Examine traffic and bandwidth ranges for each interface within host groups, enabling the identification of peak usage periods and potential bottlenecks.

  • Legacy Capacity Planning Report

    • Analyze network traffic over a specified period with filtering options, visualizing key metrics such as maximum and average traffic, including 95th percentile values.
